Put the test on the big screen.
Open the class display on the projector: the class sees the join code, the time left and the leaderboard moving as answers come in. When the test ends, the top three stand on a podium.
Made for the projector.
The display is its own page, built for a room: big type, a dark stage, and only what the class should see.
Join code first
Before anyone joins, the display shows the join code in large type, with where to enter it.
Live progress
While the test runs, each student’s row shows their rank, a progress track and their score, and slides when they move up.
A podium at the end
When the test closes, the top three stand on a podium above the rest of the top ten.
Three moments of a test.
Students join
Press Show to class on the test page. The class reads the join code from the screen.
The race is on
Rows move as students answer or submit, and the top of the screen counts down the time left.
The podium
Once the test ends, the podium rises. Answers still waiting for review keep the board open until they are graded.
The details.
What the display shows, and what it keeps off the screen.
- Works with
- Every test: code tests and quizzes, even quizzes that hide results from students.
- What it shows
- The first ten students, with their rank, name, a progress track, a tick once finished, and their score.
- What it hides
- Per-problem and per-question results, answers, tab switches and anything waiting for review. Those stay on the teacher’s page.
- Screen
- A dark stage scaled to the screen, so ten rows fit a 1080p projector without scrolling.
- Updates
- The board follows the test live, a few seconds behind each answer, with no reload.
- Who opens it
- The teacher, signed in, in a new tab without the app’s navigation.
Questions about the class display.
What teachers ask before projecting a test.
- Do students see the leaderboard on their own screens?
- No. The ranking is only on the class display, which the teacher chooses to project. Each student’s screen shows their test, not a ranking.
- Does the display show students’ answers?
- No. It shows rank, name, progress and score. Answers, per-problem and per-question results and tab switches stay on the teacher’s page.
- Does it work for quizzes?
- Yes, for every test, code tests and quizzes alike.
- How many students does it show?
- The first ten, ranked. The full results stay on the test page for the teacher.
- What about open answers waiting for review?
- They count for nothing until graded. The display says so and keeps following the test until every answer is graded, so the final podium is right.
- Is there a leaderboard outside tests?
- Yes, for practice: students see their school’s practice leaderboard by points, all time, this month and most improved.
